HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!: Today is One Gay At A Time’s 1 year anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year. At times, it seems like longer. One year ago today, I hatched the idea to create the nom de plume, One Gay At A Time and beging writing a blog. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you, my faithful readers! We’ve been through a lot together to say the least. I feel fortunate to have conversed with many of you and gain a different perspective on a tumultuous dating life. I don't know what turned me off more: the naked picture he sent me or the fact that he's poor.: It’s crazy what a difference a few days makes. On Sunday I was feeling positive about H. Now I want nothing to do with him. On Sunday night, almost immediately after I wrote that blog post, H texted me. H: How was your night? Yes! My “plan” worked! I’m back on his radar, and he’s expressing an interest beyond hooking up! Silly me. We texted for about half an hour, talking about our day and how we had spent our weekends. Then he said: H: I was hot earlier. Too bad you were far. H: If you know what I mean. If I know what he means? I’m not an idiot, of course I know what he means. Damn, why’d he have to take it there? Sigh…oh well, I guess I better put him back in the hook up category. Me: You should have waited. H: Trust me I was tempted. But there were things I had to do before 5. H: :-/ So wait, not only is he only looking for a hook up, but he was going to get to my house at 4 and leave at 5?! WTF! Me: Too bad. H: I know. You should visit me. H (literally 3 minutes later): Is that a no? I told him I had been beating egg whites for meringue cookies. We talked about the cookies a bit, and the conversation ended with me telling him I’d email him the recipe the next day. Why do I have such poor instincts? In hindsight I realize that I should have let it die there. But for some reason – boredom, loneliness – I decided to email him the cookie recipe. After saying “thank you” and “how’s your day?”, he repeated that I should come visit him. I told him I couldn’t, that he should come visit me. The banter back and forth was flirty but not overly sexual. I told him he was mean, because he could come see me but was choosing not to. He said he couldn’t really come, and I asked him why not? I couldn’t believe his response: H: I have some things to do and I spent a lot of money this weekend and to get to you is expensive. I was SOOO turned off by this. For him to get to my house and then back home costs about $20 plus gas. I’m not worth that? Way to make me feel special. Even if he’s broke, there was NO NEED to tell me that – he could have just stopped at “I have some things to do.” And what, he doesn’t want to spend the money to come see me, but he has no problem with me spending my money to go to him? Cheap bastard! And I’m sorry, but by the time you’re 32 you need to have your shit at least somewhat together, and if he can’t even afford $20 to come see me then I do NOT need to be wasting my time with him. I can see it now: he comes over, but then we can’t go out or go to the movies because he spent all his money on gas and tolls! Boy please…you can put that where? Back there. (I recommend you watch the whole clip, but if you don’t want to, skip ahead to 3:40.) Anyway. The conversation went on a little bit after that but eventually trailed into nothing. I had no intention of ever speaking to him again. But that’s not the end of the story. On Tuesday night I went to a work party, and I looked fabulous in a few pictures that were posted to Facebook. He “liked” one of them, so on Wednesday I had a feeling I’d be hearing from him. And I was right. H: Heyyy Again, I shouldn’t have responded. I don’t know why I did. Time for some deep self examination, I think. Me (3 hours later): Hey how’s it going? H: Good…Wasssupp Me: Not much…tired as hell…you? H: What were you up to? I’m here watching tv. Me: Late night, early morning AND I forced myself to go to the gym after work today. Ready to pass out. H: Nice. You have Skype? When he asked me if I had Skype I KNEW exactly where the conversation was heading. But I was unable to stop it. Me: No H: You should. It can be fun. It’s free too. YOU CHEAP BASTARD! Hahaha. Me: I mean, I signed up for it, but I don’t have video capability on my phone or laptop. H: Oh Dammm..I wanted to make up for not going over there Really? And how, exactly, were you going to do that? By jerking off on Skype while I watched? Yeah, that would REALLY make it up to me. Me: Oh lord. I can only imagine what that would entail. H: H: Send me some recognition. Me: I don’t know what that means Obviously I knew he wanted me to send him some pics, even though I still don’t know what the hell “recognition” means. H: You’re a smart woman. Hmmm lol H (10 minutes later): Nothing? Me: Haha I really don’t know what you meant. H: I wanna see what I want Me: You’ve already seen it. H: Well I don’t know when I’m gonna see it again. I’m a little horny also H: Maybe I can help I looked at my phone and it says “image downloading.” Of course I knew what was coming: it was a picture of his dick. To be fair, it was an impressive picture. But the whole thing was so, I don’t know, abrupt, out of the blue, without any regard for whether I had any interest whatsoever in seeing it, that all I could think about was ending the conversation…and writing this blog post! Me: Lol you’re too much. No I’m not sending you any pics! But thanks for the one you just sent, that will keep me entertained later. Not just me, but also my readers! Haha. H: Damn I can’t get one? H: SMH Me: Nope Me: Lol H: You’re playing that game huh H: Me: I don’t play games. H: So why not? You want me to go over there? Um, no I don’t, not anymore! Me: I’m just not into the pic thing. For myself. H: Why not? You hot. Me: And, I’M not horny right now! Just tired. Me: Thank you. H: Is it your conscience? Me: No. Maybe. I don’t know! Just so you know, it isn’t my “conscience.” I’m not opposed to sexting or to sending naughty pictures. Just not with him. H: Try it. Get out of your comfort zone. H: Nothing much as of yet. You should come down here. I never responded. I’m not sure why I engaged him in that conversation at all. At any point I could have just not responded, and that would have been the end of it. But it’s like I have this weird need to keep things cool and not let things end on bad terms. So I just smile and nod and hope it will be over soon, and maybe even still hope that it can still work out positively. It never does though. In any case, I am definitely done with H.
Pinky (it's just unnatural): For those of you who voted on my next blog topic, THIS was your pick. And I cannot thank you enough, because I want this story told so I can work on removing everything about it from my mental imagery. I actually wanted this to be my second blog, but "Trek" (from my very first blog -- The Wheat Thins Incident) advised me over a beer one night that perhaps I was still a little too fired up about this one and might oughtta let it mellow a bit. Well, Trek -- the people have spoken. And I am glad they did. Trek (and a few others) got to hear this story through my vivid personal account, which I am told cannot be done justice in writing, but I'm going to try. I need to give a little back story for those reading who don't know me. I'm what some might call… a little spit-fire; personality and sass bursting at my seams. When it comes to sarcasm and insults, it comes as natural to me as breathing. I also grew up with three older brothers and a dad with a crude sense of humor. I developed boobs when I was about five, so male crudeness and comments are no strangers to me. I always (try to) act like a lady, but about 90% of the time, I think more like a man. I'm not even close to being a prude, and am nearly impossible to offend. In fact, if you can offend me, I will likely offer my congratulations (first) for the feat you've just accomplished, followed immediately by my condolences for the shit-storm about to blow your way. Until recently, I had a profile on a dating website. This is where some (ok, fine…nearly all) of my dating stories (good and bad) come from. I joined it about 6 months after my divorce was final, mostly because of peer pressure from some friends. I hadn't been in the dating world for about 12 years, and had no clue how to meet people, so this "online dating" thing intrigued me at first. It is literally window-shopping for your next boyfriend/girlfriend. If you're out of the loop on this -- first of all, congratulations -- but let me give you a brief crash course on how it works, in a nutshell: Boy/Girl sets up profile on dating site -- includes a picture and a little bio about themselves. Other Boys/Girls search for their perfect soul mate. The picture is the bait*, and the profile portion (if done correctly) is the hook*, line*, and sinker*. (*This lingo is in no way a subliminal reference to which particular dating site I may or may not have been on.) Boy/Girl finds someone who strikes their fancy, strike up a conversation on the site, and if all goes well there, exchange phone numbers, etc. and then blow each others' phones up with text messages until they decide to meet face-to-face. There are other things, too, like rating pictures, selecting favorites, and my personal fave – the "daily match". THERE'S the guy I want to meet. The guy responsible for the "matching" -- because HE'S an idiot. And yes, I do imagine a GUY being in control of all this, sitting in his college dorm room, drinking with his buddies, like the Mark Zuckerberg of the online dating world, with a lot of "dude, DUDE – check this shit out…" being said. Another feature of this site is that you can recommend someone for a friend (who is also on the site). I find this to be a really dumb option: "Oh, hey girl -- I don't wanna date this ass-hat, but -- YOU want him?!" That's TOTALLY a man feature if I ever saw one. This particular "match" was orchestrated by my 21-year-old niece, who also has a profile on the site. She and "Pinky" struck up conversation, but she realized that he was about 15 years older than her, so she said "hey -- you should talk to my aunt; she's closer to your age." Enter Pinky into the situation. My intention here is not to brag but rather to emphasize a point. I was getting about 30 messages per week on this site. I did read all of them, but there was no way I could reply to all of them. You've got to catch my attention if you want a reply. The "your niece told me to contact you" portion of his message is what got me to reply to Pinky. We did the usual, chatting/e-mailing, then went to texting each other. It was the usual chit-chat: jobs/family/what do you like to do for fun, etc. -- basically just an exchange of witty banter-y crap. I have a long-standing love for large, loud trucks (always have), so he did send me a picture of some of the huge trucks he owns, and the properties he owned -- like that was supposed to just melt my pants off or something? Please. It was actually becoming a bit of a turn-off for me. But I get it -- he was puffing his chest out trying to make me like him. Whatever. This communication exchange went on for about a week or so. ***MIND YOU -- WE HAD NOT MET FACE-TO-FACE. NOT ONCE.*** Then, on a perfectly good Monday afternoon (thank GOD I was off work that day), it happened. He sent me a picture ….of his penis. Now… it had been awhile, but not THAT long ago. I know what they look like. I also know that in my 35 years of life, I've never seen a cute one. Aesthetically speaking, they are just not really attractive. Sorry guys, but they're not. But when I opened the text and saw that, my first reaction was "what the HELL is that?" This particular one was especially disturbing. Other than the fact that this image was now permanently embedded in my mind's eye and it was COMPLETELY trashy and disrespectful, the things that immediately set me off about it were: 1) It was unnaturally pink. BRIGHT pink. Like bubblegum. (Hence, his new moniker). 2) His hand -- with disgusting, dirty fingernails – was wrapped around it, apparently choking the color out of it (or into it?) 3) His thigh was showing in the picture as well -- with five huge pimples on it. Yes, yes I did count them. I came un-glued. Not because I'm a prude, but because I found it insanely offensive. Who in their right mind does that? Who/what do you think I am? WHAT in our brief time of conversing gave you the impression that I might be remotely ok with that? Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. Naturally, I immediately texted my sister and my niece to tell them what he did. My niece had a similar reaction to mine. My sister found it infinitely hilarious how pissed and offended I was. So I did what any good sister would do, and forwarded the picture to her so she could understand why I was pissed. I wanted her to commiserate. It worked. Both she and the other handful of women who saw the picture understood why I reacted the way I did. I was honestly at a loss for words -- PROPER words. This almost never happens. I waited almost an hour, and then this is VERBATIM the text exchange that followed (note the time lapses in there -- that's when I was just seething, trying to choose my words): 3:05 p.m. Pinky to Me: Pinky sends me the disgusting picture. 3:56 p.m. Me to Pinky: "Big F*#king mistake on your part. I'm done." 4:23 p.m. Pinky to Me: "Jeesh. It was a joke, K?" 6:42 p.m. Me to Pinky: "No…'jokes' are funny. And I can take one just as good as the next guy. This *might* be funny if we were in a long-term relationship. When we haven't even MET yet, it's rude and offensive to send something like that to a lady. Yes, I am a LADY. And if this is how you act, makes no difference how big your f*#king truck or bank account is, you are going to attract nothing but trash, which I am not. Just be glad you sent this to me and not my niece, because my brother would FIND YOU and make you apologize." 6:56 p.m. Pinky to Me: "I'm sorry, I was def not trying to offend. I am truly sorry. I can't say that enough. I suppose I found that sort of thing commonplace since I have been single. I should not have assumed you were anything like anyone else. U are truly going to be a regret and have taught me a valuable lesson and for that I'm appreciative. I have been sick about this since I did it. What seemed funny was hurtful. Again, I am sorry. Deleting it." 7:37 p.m. Pinky to Me: "K" My sister thought I was a bit harsh, as did my sister-in-law. Whaaaaat?? Did you SEE that thing? That's in my head, like, FOREVER. And I will never know why it was so. damn. pink. -which further pisses me off. So I got to wondering….would I have been quite as offended if it had been a better-looking (albeit still ugly) penis? Nope. Still would've pissed me off. Call me a prude if you want to. Call me old fashioned. I just feel like there should be some dinner/conversation/hand-holding/kiss/ACTUALLY MEETING IN PERSON, etc. before any genitals are exposed in any form. Guys, if a woman is asking for a picture of your junk while the rest of you remains sight unseen, she's a trash bag, and yours isn't the only one she's asking for. Ladies, if stories like this from the dating world don't make your ovaries want to shrivel up and start collecting cats, then I don't know what will. Oh, speaking of cat-collecting… wait til you hear THAT dating tragedy.
Guys and their Game: I don't know if you have played this game with your girlfriends on a night out -- where you guess which type of guy he is by the way he runs his 'game' -- well me and my Irish girlies play it all the time when we are out and I have come to realise that MOST men prowling in the bars, clubs and wherever else fall mostly into one of these categories. The cringe worthy one-liner men Cheese is the name of the game here. In fact the cheesier the better! These guys are actually quite smart when you think about it they are answering the plea of every women all over the world -- don't act like you know what I'm talking about how many times have you or your girlfriends uttered these infamous words 'All I want is a guy who can make me laugh'. And these 'one-liner' guy's answer this call -- they approach you with a cheesy one line -- yes it's likely to make you cringe but if he has played it right you will laugh. Once they have you laughing they've got your attention and that is half the battle. I will admit I'm not immune to the charm of a cleverly crafted cringe worthy one liner, at work the other day I walked past this guy who he blurted out 'Jean Claude Van DAMN you're hot!' really loudly. It made me blush and laugh in equal measures. And it most certainly broke the ice between us, we got chatting and he (let's call him 'bar guy') Well bar guy hung around the whole night and once I finished work he took me out for breakfast at 3am, which was a first. Working in a bar and being chatted up most nights I have heard so many cringe-worthy one liners some other 'gems' (and I use the term loosely) that I have heard recently; "Did you have Lucky Charms for breakfast this morning? Because you look magically delicious" "My magical watch tells me you are not wearing any underwear… Oh well I guess it must be an hour fast", "You have 206 bones in your body, do you want one more?" "Your shirt and I have something in common…. we both look good on you" I could go on and on and on but I won't because that would be getting off point slightly. The charmer You want to watch out for these guys -- these are the ones who only USUALLY want a one nightstand. They won't call even if they say they will and if they do it will be for a repeat performance and not a relationship. These guys don't have a designate hunting ground you could run into them anywhere from the coffee shop, supermarket or at the bar on a night out. They are however easy to spot, they will approach you brimming in swagger, dripping in charm with cleverly crafted compliments that just seem to roll off his tongue and out of his mouth usually something about how you look or your outfit. These types of men are over confident and bordering on cocky. I will admit I like my men confident but their arrogance gets old pretty quick. They would be better served by saying a something like they mean it, not like it's just some line. It pains me to admit that man women fall for a charmers lines and then are left crying when he hasn't called. My experience with charmers has been they are good for an ego boost if you are feeling down and out of your depth. They are the ideal choice if you want to get over one guy by getting under another -- they won't want or expect more than one night. The attention seeker The attention seeker -- you know the guy at the bar who is staring at you and then after a few minutes of unreturned attention sends you over a drink and when you smile politely at him to accept the drink he sees this as his invitation to come over to the table. Sending you a drink is the conversation opener, you accept they know you are receptive to the approach, you send it back and well he is striking out from the bench without ever actually having been in the game to begin with. I guess you can say these guys are similar to the 'long distance flirt' in that there method is very non-committal, so with rejection they are never really losing to begin because they weren't fully in the game. The long distance flirt You know the guy you spend the entire night with eye fucking you from across the bar from a distance or the guy who engages in friendly banter and heckling from the other side of the bar -- that is a long distance flirter. They feel safer flirting from a far at first and are very non committal. Depending on the place this can be an ideal way to flirt and instigate some cheeky banter. I have encountered a few of this type they can be kind of loud -- not necessarily a bad thing! The most recent time was at a table quiz (where I was embracing my full inner nerd) and while I was not intimated by the banter one or two of the other girls were. After the quiz he came over and I will admit I wasn't all the surprised he did, he flipped into the charmer and insisted we buy him a drink out of our winnings. I will admit he did get a date just for being so brazen and standing out. The white knight These are the straight from the fairy tale kinds of guys -- some would call them 'real men'. This type of guy is the guy who offers to help you get the heavy item you just bought to your car or the guy who gives up his seat for you on public transport. I will admit this is a cleaver play I mean offering assistance or giving a seat up for you is a nice little move into conversation, I mean naturally you feel obliged to smile politely, thank them and make small talk with them. And once they have you talking they can keep you talking disarm you and charm you. The serenade Now this type of guy is rare very rare and honestly unless you can't really sing you should avoid being one of these types of guys. I witnessed when it goes wrong. There was a party in the bar and the guy got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend in front of all their family and friends she turned him down and his brother decided to take the opportunity to serenade one of my co-workers. He couldn't sing and his choice of song 'I wanna sex you up' -- Colour me Badd really didn't help either. I mean who decides that after his brother's proposal crash and burn decides it's a good time to serenade someone. Singing is not the only method by which someone may serenade you -- they may do it with words in the form of a love poem or something to that effect. The thing here is it really depends on the lady in question as to if this action plan will work or not. I can tell you something for nothing it most certainly will not work on me. I love words but the chances of you being Shakespeare or WB Yates are slim so give up the ghost before it even begins I say. Which type of guy is the best…. well to me that is the one who doesn't waste my time by playing his silly 'games' which he thinks have me fooled. I have news for you 'Sonny Boy' quite while you are ahead because I know the way you play because us ladies wrote the playbook. My search goes on for someone who doesn't play the game…. although I would probably settle for a guy who can play the game as well as I. Now that would make for some interesting dates and make for some very interesting blog entries. Applications' are currently being taken….

Para além, do ciberbullying e do sexting (mensagens escritas com conteúdo eróticos ou sexual), os especialistas falam agora de um novo risco da utilização das redes sociais, especialmente o Facebook: «depressão do Facebook». «Existem aspectos únicos que fazem do Facebook um meio duro de se navegar pelos miúdos com fraca auto-estima», justificou Gwenn O´Keeffe, pediatra de Boston e autor líder das novas directrizes da AAP. «Não se deve descurar os prós do facto de os miúdos usarem o Facebook, como relacionarem-se com amigos e família, partilharem fotos ou debaterem ideias», explicou o pediatra, alertando, no entanto que «grande parte do desenvolvimento social e emocional desta geração acontece enquanto estão na internet ou nos telemóveis». A «depressão do Facebook» seria uma patologia com os mesmos sintomas que uma depressão normal, mas causada pelo isolamento e pela pressão social a que as redes sociais podem sujeitar os seus utilizadores, uma vez que são expostos a fotografias e comentários de outras pessoas, que aparentemente têm uma vida feliz e preenchida. «Pode ser mais doloroso do que sentar-se sozinho na cantina da escola ou do que outros encontros da vida real que deprimem os mais novos. Online não há maneira de ver expressões faciais ou linguagem corporal que proporcionem contexto, ao contrário da realidade», explicou ainda. O relatório divulgado apela aos pediatras que eduquem as famílias, alertando os pais para falarem com os seus filhos sobre a utilização de redes sociais e que os avisem dos perigos que podem correr, tais como ciberbullying, sexting ou dificuldades em organizar o seu tempo. O mesmo relatório indica que 22 por cento dos jovens ligam-se à internet mais de dez vezes por dia. A AAP recomenda também aos pais que fiquem a par do modo de funcionamento das novas tecnologias para acompanharem os filhos e sugere algumas questões para os pais colocarem aos filhos: «O que é que escreveste hoje no Facebook?» ou «Alguém falou contigo no Facebook hoje?». «Muito do que tem acontecido é saudável. Segundo Dall'Asta, “este desconhecimento por parte de dos pais traz distintas sensações nos adultos, que vão desde um temor excessivo até uma falta de interesse, produto da ignorância, embora não haja indiferença. Também se encontra o outro extremo: a sobrevalorização das tecnologias. A motivação dos jovens tem mais a ver com a exploração e a facilidade de aceder às coisas que com uma patologia”. O especialista acrescentou: "A postura ideal dos pais é estarem abertos um novo modelo de comunicação que veio para ficar, mas deve ter um grande controlo e acompanhamento diário". À pergunta de como pode reagir um adolescente quando descobre que as suas fotos e vídeos foram usadas para outros fins, Litvinoff respondeu: “A primeira coisa que sintem é vergonha. Faz-se uma exposição confiando numa cerca descrição daquele que o recebe, e isso não é assim. Isso produz a sensação de traição e vergonha social". Eu recomendo aos pais: «É importante alertar os nossos filhos que há determinadas expressões fotográficas ou fílmicas que devem ser reservadas à intimidade»". O psiquiatra e especialista em crianças, adolescentes e tecnologia, José Sahovaler, explicou: "Toda a gente sempre se expôs, não só os adolescentes. Mas isso é muito mais importante entre adolescentes, pois há um amadurecer próprio da idade. Eles precisam de se mostrar para reafirmar a sua sexualidade. Aos olhos dos outros, cada um se define sexualmente. Se eu sou atraente ou não; se gostou ou não; se sou homem ou não. Estas são perguntas que os adolescentes se fazem sobre sua sexualidade". O governo recebeu informações de que meninas de apenas 13 anos estavam enviando imagens sexualmente explícitas delas mesmas a namorados a partir de seus celulares. Daí para virar um spamsexting é um piscar de olhos. Pesquisa realizada (EUA) no final do ano passado constatou que 20% dos adolescentes americanos dizia ter enviado ou recebido fotos eróticas pelo celular, e 39% alegaram ter recebido ou enviado mensagens sexualmente sugestivas, de acordo com a National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, que busca prevenir a gravidez na adolescência. Nos Estados Unidos o chamado “sexting” já resultou na condenação, prisão e até suicídio de adolescentes. Entre os jovens de 20 a 26 anos, o fenômeno é ainda mais comum: um terço dos entrevistados declarou já ter praticado o sexting. As histórias nem sempre têm desfecho inocente -- a brincadeira que costuma oscilar entre a travessura e a pornografia está virando um problema para pais e os próprios adolescentes. No Brasil ainda não há dados sobre a extensão do fenômeno, mas já existem vídeos que se tornaram sucesso de público. Um deles foi colocado na internet com um link que pode ser acessado pela comunidade da torcida do Flamengo no site de relacionamentos Orkut. Brincadeiras de mau gosto desse tipo fazem parte de outro fenômeno -- o espírito vingativo de ex-namorados que passam a divulgar imagens da intimidade do antigo parceiro como forma de manchar sua reputação. A prática da vingança digital teve início quando um ex de Paris Hilton colocou na internet o vídeo em que os dois fazem sexo. Paris Hilton só ficou mais famosa depois do episódio, mas nem sempre o final da história é tão simples. Em julho do ano passado, uma adolescente americana se suicidou depois de um escândalo de sexting. Jessica Logan, então com 18 anos, queria presentear o namorado. Fotografou-se sem roupa e enviou pelo celular as imagens para o garoto. Quando o relacionamento de dois meses terminou, o jovem não hesitou em compartilhar as imagens da ex-namorada, uma líder de torcida loira, extrovertida e atraente, com os amigos de seu colégio, na cidade de Cincinnati. Em pouco tempo, a foto de Jessica percorreu sete colégios. A garota não aguentou as provocações. Chamada de "piranha" e "vagabunda", entrou em depressão e começou a faltar às aulas. Até que se enforcou. Hoje, seus pais lutam por uma legislação específica para julgar os desdobramentos do sexting. "É uma epidemia nacional. Ninguém está fazendo nada -- nem as escolas, nem a polícia, nem os adultos, nem os advogados, ninguém", disse Cynthia Logan, mãe de Jessica, às vésperas do lançamento de uma campanha nacional nos Estados Unidos que pretende conscientizar escolas e alunos sobre o problema. Quatro Estados americanos já classificam o sexting como crime de pornografia infantil ou exploração sexual de menores. Em fevereiro, 17 adolescentes americanos que praticaram o sexting foram acusados pelo crime de pornografia infantil -- embora as imagens divulgadas fossem deles mesmos. Na semana passada, um juiz federal da Pensilvânia, EUA, suspendeu o andamento de um processo que acusa três garotas de pornografia infantil. As meninas aparecem nuas em fotos que estavam em seus telefones celulares, apreendidos por funcionários de uma escola de Wyoming County, na Pensilvânia. No Brasil, o adolescente que virou refém de suas próprias fotos ou vídeos ainda encontra dificuldade para ver o culpado punido. "Eu queria que meu ex-namorado pagasse pelo que fez porque não consigo mais emprego depois que toda a cidade viu minhas fotos", diz Tayla Predalla, uma estudante de biologia de 20 anos de Penápolis, cidade de 56 mil habitantes, no interior de São Paulo. Tayla tinha 17 anos e cursava o ensino médio quando seu então namorado a fotografou enquanto faziam sexo. O namoro terminou em chantagem, e o garoto enviou as imagens para todos os nomes de sua lista de e-mail. Três anos depois, em setembro do ano passado, Tayla e o ex foram convocados para depor. Não houve punição. Uma vítima relata sentir calafrios, mal estar e sintomas comuns à sindrome do pânico toda vez que alguém utiliza celular na sua frente, ou quando vê pessoas próximas dela rindo ao visualizar algo na tela do celular. Com o avanço tecnológico, onde cada vez mais pessoas e até crianças utilizam aparelhos eletrônicos, imagine a angústia em que se encontra ao sair nas ruas."Me sinto usada sexualmente cada vez que uma pessoa me aborda para dizer que assistiu ao meu video de sexting. É como se aquela pessoa tivesse assistido a uma relação sexual minha. E o pior, com um namorado a quem eu quero esquecer, e sempre é lembrado como se fosse o meu relacionamento atual. Tudo isso é muito desconfortável, já fazem anos que o video vazou e eu sinto que isso nunca vai terminar. Não consigo reconstruir a minha vida afetiva, também."A única maneira de evitar todo esse sofrimento às vítimas de sexting, é NÃO COMPARTILHAR VIDEOS PORNOGRÁFICOS CASEIROS, AJUDAR A APAGAR OS VÍDEOS JÁ EXISTENTES E TRATAR A VÍTIMA DE SEXTING COM DIGNIDADE, pois ninguém é tão pervertido sexual que sinta prazer ao saber que sua intimidade é tratada como chiste, deboche e brincadeira por pessoas desconhecidas.
